The highly anticipated second album of The Magic Gang has finally dropped and it is an absolute treat.
The band already blessed us earlier this year with new singles Think, What Have You Got To Lose, Take Back The Track, and Make Time For Change. Now the album has come out in its full and final form, and let me tell you, it surprisingly is the perfect album to come out during this lockdown.
The album, accidentally but also very fittingly, is called Death of the Party and is in many ways an homage to the party (remember those??).
Listening to songs like Just a Minute, Make a Sound and title track Death of the Party; I can just envision myself holding a drink, standing in a corner and 'dancing' (read: rhythmically moving from side to side) at a house party.
Let's put it this way: any party will be elevated by putting on this record. Fingers crossed we can enjoy it in such a setting very soon. In the meantime: solo dance parties it is. Whether it's slow dancing to (The World) Outside My Door or getting your groove on to the more upbeat Gonna Bounce Back - we need to start working on our choreo, people.
